What’s wrong with Self Talk?

Disappointment.

That’s how I am feeling towards myself, cause I easily get affected by people’s impression towards me. Like me being too emotional—yeah, I totally admit it tho there could be times. I tried to hold these emotions for a long time but when I started speaking about it, You should know that it’s the real thing. It means it’s already serious. I only vent out to really trusted friends, and often so—I already processed things in my head before sharing it to them. So, if you’re that someone that I am not afraid of showing my real emotions—you should be thankful. hahaha I don’t easily find comfort to random people.

Get to know myself better.

This blog or my podcast set as a platform for others to perhaps know me better, and maybe to someone whose also like me. I believe I’m only one in millions of people having this kind of character and they also want to be heard and understood.

So, today’s topic is part of knowing myself better and why having a pause helps?

With all these chaos that surrounds us, let’s admit that we get tired. To be completely honest, my thoughts are scattered everywhere—I could talk to my friends about it, which I am really really grateful for. But, most of the time—the thing that really helped me pick my sanity is by talking to myself.

Does talking to yourself makes you crazy?

It’s bizarre and amusing at the same time, the things you can find on the internet. I actually searched on “why I talk to myself” because I’m afraid this could characterize by others as alarming. According to an article from New York Times, talking to yourself is completely normal. Okay?! Please don’t stigmatized people like me who often talks to myself out loud.

Personally—it worked for me to pause and reflect before doing major decisions, especially after all the bad decisions I had in the past.

It’s just like this, let’s say you are in Starbucks and you can’t decide which drink to get. Unknowingly, you have already talked to yourself, by asking “Should I get this or that?”—but in quiet manner, without uttering a word. And I guess it’s the same logic, we just say it loud in public. Most especially if you are so immersed and you did not realize that you are talking louder as you should be.

I totally agree on Dr. Nicolosi, because I remember that I was so tensed before my big presentation—I prayed a lot and told myself, I can do it! Talking to ourselves sometimes help us organize our way of thinking before acting to anything.

Be kind to yourself!

Lastly, don’t be too hard on yourself! Sometimes, we are pulling ourselves down before anyone does. Be kind to yourself and listen to what it says. Having a healthy self manifest your actions, your words and your outcome in life.
